“The Love Of Christ Jesus”/Peter An Apostle of Jesus Christ

A Christ Filled Life – Getting To Know Jesus

Sunday Service was beautiful!  Our Pastor has started a new series on Noah, it was wonderful.  He also shared with us how to spend your time when you’re waiting in a long line; think about the Lord and give thanks for the many things He is doing for you, in a quiet way, because God is not deaf (smile).  By doing this, you get in the habit of meditating on the Lord throughout your day.  Excellent!

Next, I’d like to share the Books of Peter.  1Peter shows us that difficulties and hardships don’t have to wear us down.  This letter teaches us that God can use difficulties to strengthen us.  Peter, the Apostle, saw that increasing hardship and persecution had caused some Christians to wonder if God had abandoned them.  He wrote this letter to the Believers scattered throughout the regions of Asia Minor, in what is now Turkey around A.D. 60 and 64.  At this time the Roman government had given Christians the same freedom of religion as the Jews.  But as the rift between Jews and Christians grew, tolerance for Christianity faded.  Roman policy was to ban problem religions, which where perceived as a threat to the stability of the empire.  Christians began facing discrimination, acts of violence, arrest and confiscation of property.  Peter himself was imprisoned and beaten for his faith, thus he earned the right to address the subject of suffering.  What to look for in 1Peter?  Reason for hope in the face of trouble and suffering.  Quest Study Bible.

Our trials and tribulations may not be as serious as the early Christians but somewhere Christians are being persecuted for their belief in Christ Jesus.  We pray for them.  I am going through a trial now and at times I feel great distress.  At times it is all consuming, but, for the Grace of God.  We Have an Enemy, it can’t be said enough.  Satan wants to destroy not only Believers in Christ, but every human being because we are created by God.  Ephesians 6:10-20, tells us to “Put on the Whole Armor of God, that we might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”  Why? because this is  WAR, we are fighting for our very souls.
A Few Scriptures to help fight despair:

Psalms 147:3, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Psalm 55:22, Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Proverbs 30:5, Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.Amen.

“Peter, An Apostle of Jesus Christ”, 1Peter 1:1) Peter, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontius, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,  Acts 2:5, 9.  2) Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the Blood of Jesus Christ:  Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.  2Thessalonians 2:13.

Matthew Henry’s Concise Bible Commentary – v1-2, This epistle (letter) is addressed to Believers in general, who are strangers in every city or country where they live, and are scattered through the nations.  These are to ascribe their salvation to the electing Love of the Father, the Redemption of the Son and the Sanctification of the Holy Ghost; and so to give Glory to One God in Three Persons, into whose name they had been baptized.  Amen.

More to come and God Bless You.
