A Christ Filled Life – Getting to Know Jesus
“The Book of Daniel has a lot of miraculous rescues and humbling of pagan kings and the amazing predictions of how God would depose tyrants. All display God’s power and His willingness to use it.” Quest Study Bible.
Today in Church Service a minister quoted Ephesians 3:20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. God’s love for us and His power knows no limits.
John 5:31) If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. 32) There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. 33) Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. 34) But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. 35) He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. 2Peter 1:19. 36) But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. 37) And the Father Himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 1Timothy 1:17. 38) And ye have not His word abiding in you: for whom He hath sent, Him ye believe not. 39) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Acts 17:11. 40) And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41) I receive not honour from men. 1Thessalonians 2:6. 42) But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43) I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44) How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? Romans 2:29. 45) Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. Romans 2:12. 46) For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. Acts 26:22. 47) But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words.

John was a lamp. v36 the works, John did not perform any signs (10:41). Those were specific works that the Son was to perform, as predicted in the Old Testament (Isaiah 35:5, 6) to attest to the fact that He was sent by the Father. v37, 38 This is not a reference to the voice from heaven at the baptism of Christ, but to scripture (vv38, 39). v39 The Jewish religious leaders of Jesus’ day searched diligently the Old Testament scriptures, but did not see Jesus as the Messiah and did not believe in Him (v38). v40-42 The love of God, here is not love from God but love of God. Since God loves us we should love Him (Deuteronomy 6:5: 1John 4:19). v43 in his own name, If someone had come giving his own ideas, in harmony with the people’s ideas, the people would have received him. v45 honour that comes from the only God. The glory that will be revealed in us in the presence of God (Romans 8:18). Christ will not have to accuse the people on judgment day, because the one in whom they placed their hope, Moses, will.
